A few steps later I met two guinea pigs. They lived in a large enclosure and they jumped around in the straw.

"Tick – I got you!" called one of the guinea pigs and touched the other one with its paw.

"Now it is your turn!" cried the guinea pig with joy catching the other one.

They saw me coming and stopped their game.

"Hello sweet cat!" they welcomed me.

"Hello," I replied, "I am Michel, but I am not sweet. I am courageous!"

It was very important to me to say that I was courageous. I didn't want to be known as being sweet or cuddly. I was a courageous cat and I was clever!

I called out to the guinea pigs,

"Hey, you two, you would have surely climbed up the ladder to heaven together?"

But one of the guinea pigs looked very sad and said to me,

"No I came alone. My sister is still on earth."

He wiped a tear from his eye and explained,

"By mistake I ate a toy and so my guardian guinea pig Blinki sent me from earth to heaven. Here it does not matter if you ate something wrong."

The guinea pig said sadly,

"I miss my sister and my owner Sonja where we used to live."

I stroked the fur of the sad guinea pig and tried to comfort it,

"But you are not alone, here in heaven we are all with you. Also you found a new friend guinea pig to play with."

Then the guinea pig was again cheerful and happy.

"That's right," he said relieved.

Then he touched me with his paw and shouted excitedly,

"Now I've got you! It's your turn!"

And so I tried to catch the guinea pig with big jumps. What great fun this was.

Whilst playing this game I had completely forgotten the time and I had not noticed that my guardian cat Bruno had already come.
